This kit includes a 99mm Billet Aluminum cylinder that has a longer forged aluminum sleeve installed in it.  It is coated with ceramic bore coating.  We modify your OEM crankshaft by relocating the crank pin further out from the center of the crank.  It is then balanced to match the Carrillo rod and CP Piston in the compression ratio of your choice.

OEM bored cylinders over 98mm have about a 20% failure rate, they last about 10 seconds with a stroker crank. That is why we designed the Ice Cube cylinder.  The Ice Cube Cylinder was designed for big bore applications right from the start.

The Ice Cube is made from 2 extremely dense forms of aerospace grade aluminum, billet and forged.  Dense forged aluminum (the same grade as piston forgings) provides the highest level of strength and transfers heat faster than steel or even cast aluminum.  These strength and heat transfer properties makes it ideal for this application where space is limited and stress is increased.   The forged cylinder liner is completely serviceable and if ever needed can be replaced for a completely new bore.

The Ice Cube cylinder also has extended cylinder skirts that provide piston support at BDC (bottom dead center) for most stroker cranks.  Standard skirt length allows the piston to drop out of the bore at BDC when used with a stroker crank.  This advantage of the Ice Cube reduces piston skirt “scrubbing” dramatically in stroker applications.

After testing for about 2 years in our latest design revision we include cutting in a copper fire ring around the combustion chamber on all Ice Cubes and STEALTH designs.   This fire ring improvement has tested itself as the ultimate cure to head gasket issues that show up in larger bore engines.  It also has proven itself as a sleeve stabilizer in the Ice Cube design.  That means no more shifting of the replaceable sleeve and no more additional sealer on head gaskets.
