Notes: This is a 99mm Billet Aluminum cylinder that has a forged aluminum sleeve installed it is coated with Ceramic Nickel Bore. It also comes with an aftermarket stroker crankshaft. At 4mm over OEM bored cylinders have about a 20% failure rate, they last about 10 seconds with a stroker crank. That is why we designed the Ice Cube cylinder.

The Ice Cube Cylinder is the only aftermarket cylinder available that was designed for big bore applications right from the start.

Most of the cast big bore cylinders that are out there were originally designed as stock replacement cylinders. Once the big bore movement really took off around 2005 companies decided to machine and plate them oversize to sell to the budget big bore market. Most of these cylinders have less than 1/2 of the coolant capacity of the Ice Cube. (We know because we checked them). They also have skirts that fold like a house of cards when you put stroke to them.

Water jacket capacity is not where the Ice Cube advantages stop. The Ice Cube is made from 2 extremely dense forms of aeorspace grade aluminum, billet and forged. Dense forged aluminum (the same grade as piston forgings) provides the higest level of strength and transfers heat faster than steel or even cast aluminum. These strength and heat transfer properties makes it ideal for this application where space is limited and stress is increased. The Ice Cube is also the only cylinder that has extended cylinder skirts that provide piston support at BDC (bottom dead center) for stroker cranks. Every other cylinder out there allows the piston to drop out of the bore at BDC. This advantage of the Ice Cube increases piston life dramatically in stroker applications.

This kit is a good choice for the customer who is looking for a Big bore kit and also needs to replace the crankshaft. It does not build as much torque as the 523 kit but it certainally will hold it’s own against most anything out there. We do not recommend you install this kit with out balancing the crank. We have sold a few of them this way and every time the customer sends them back to get balanced. Just figure on getting it balanced up front and save yourself a load of trouble.

    This kit can make a yfz one impressive beast. I have a race port, full sparks, fcr intake with a stock dyna three way ignition. fifty three ponys by the dyno. I beleive the carb is the issue. I need to have mine bored. The torque is awesome, not to the point of being too violent though. Pretty good deal. According to my shop I’ll get another five or so with the carb bored. Top end is where I drop off but the low end is solid until entering third gear.

    2004 yfz Stroked with an ice cube cylinder and CP 14:1 piston.Full GYTR exhaust,(Dyna FS well worth the money),stock ex cam retard,hot cam intake cam,stock porting,carb bored(a waste of money imo dont do it).Anyway,quad is violent and will stand up in 4th with no coaxing.There is no let off in power,quad is still pulling when I run out of gear…Awesome..I am moving back down to 12:5:1 so I can run 92 octane again but I am porting the head which should compensate for any power lost.

    Wow is all I gotta say.
    Don’t really notice any power gain till about 4th gear mostly from loss of traction very light mods done to this bike but the one major upgrade changed the entire attitude
